Demographic and socio-economic statistics
Definition:
The ratio between the number of live births in a population during a given year and the total mid-year population for the same year, usually multiplied by 1,000.
Method of measurement
Population data from the United Nations correspond to mid-year estimated values, obtained by linear interpolation from the corresponding United Nations fertility medium-variant quinquennial population projections.
Unit of Measure:
Cases per 1 000 population
