What should be entered at a command prompt to view all of a users tcp/ip settings?

Checking the local IP address of a Belkin router is useful when:
 

• You need to determine what IP address to use when accessing the router’s web-based setup page.

NOTE:  The default IP address of a Belkin router is 192.168.2.1.

• You need to check the IP address range and Default Gateway to assign it to a computer when assigning a static IP address.

Before you begin, ensure to do the following:
 

• Connect the computer to the router - Ensure that the router is properly connected to your computer using an ethernet cable by checking the lights on your computer and router.  Observe if the lights are lit once the ethernet cable is connected.

• Check if the computer is set to DHCP - To get an IP address automatically from the Belkin router, you have to check the TCP/IP properties of the ethernet adapter installed on the computer.  To know more, click here.   After making sure that the computer is set to Obtain an IP Address automatically, proceed to checking the router's IP address.

To find the Belkin router's local IP address, check the IP settings of the computer.  Select your computer's operating system (OS) below for specific instructions:

Windows® 10
Windows 8
Windows 7
OS X®

Step 1:
On the Taskbar, click the search  icon and enter "cmd".
 

Step 2:
Click Command Prompt.
 

Step 3:
On the Command Prompt window, enter "ipconfig/all" then press [Enter].
 

Step 4:
Look for your router's local IP address by checking the Default Gateway section.
 

NOTE:  If your router is not responding to your computer, power cycle your router then repeat Step 3.  If it is still not responding, perform a reset.  If you're not getting a valid Default Gateway address, renew the computer's TCP/IP settings.

Step 1:

On the Charms bar, click the search  icon.

NOTE:  For touch-enabled computers, swipe from the right edge to reveal the Charms bar with the system commands.

Step 2:
Click Command Prompt.
 

Step 3:
On the Command Prompt window, enter "ipconfig/all" then press [Enter].

Step 4:
Look for your router's local IP address by checking the Default Gateway section.
 

NOTE:  If your router is not responding to your computer, power cycle your router, then repeat Step 3.  If it is still not responding, perform a reset.  If you're not getting a valid Default Gateway address, renew the computer's TCP/IP settings.

Step 1:
Click on the Pearl button then enter "cmd" in the search field.
 

NOTE:  You can also enter "command prompt" in the field.

Step 2:
On the search results, click on the cmd icon.

Step 3:
In the Command Prompt window, enter "ipconfig/all" then press [Enter].

Step 4:
Look for your router's local IP address by checking the Default Gateway section.

NOTE:  If your router is not responding to your computer, power cycle your router, then repeat Step 3.  If it is still not responding, perform a reset.  If you're not getting a valid Default Gateway address, renew the computer's TCP/IP settings.

Step 1:
Click on the Apple® icon and select System Preferences.
 

Step 2:
Under System Preferences, click Network.

Step 3:
On the Network screen, look for Location and select Automatic from the dropdown menu.  Then, click on Ethernet and look for your router's local IP address by checking the Router section.

NOTE:  If your router is not responding to your computer, power cycle your router, then repeat Step 3.  If it is still not responding, perform a reset.  If you're not getting a valid Default Gateway address, renew the computer's TCP/IP settings.

You should now have successfully checked the IP address of your Belkin router.
