If two coins are tossed which is not a possible value of the random variable for the number of heads

Video Transcript

In this problem, first time writing in tossing two fair coins, outcome can be written as outcome is equal to head. Head, it is still ahead till 10. So expected number of head occurs. It acts here so I can write the value of X and P. X at 0, 1 x four, one, two by four, two, one by four. On further simplification, I can write the expression for E X is equal to E X is equal to zero, multiplication, one by four plus one, multiplication, two by four plus two, multiplication, one by four, which is equal to zero plus two by four plus two by four. Finally, I get the value edge four by four, which is equal to one, so one is the correct answer for this problem.

Which of the following is not a possible value of the random variable for the number?

The value of a random variable could be zero. Random variables can only have one value. The probability of the value of a random variable could be zero. The sum of all the probabilities in a probability distribution is always equal to one.

What are the possible values of a random variable in tossing two coins?

Example of a Random Variable If the random variable Y is the number of heads we get from tossing two coins, then Y could be 0, 1, or 2. This means that we could have no heads, one head, or both heads on a two-coin toss. However, the two coins land in four different ways: TT, HT, TH, and HH.

How many possible outcomes are there when two coins are tossed together?

(b) When two coins are tossed together. There are four possible outcomes HH, HT, TH, TT.

Which of the following Cannot be the value of probability of the random variable?

Answer and Explanation: A probability ranges from 0 to 1 . That is, any negative number cannot be treated as a probability.
