Renewal of a license on active status requires 12 hours of continuing education (see Continuing Education or login to your record for further information).

The two-year renewal fee is $125.00 for a salesperson and $175.00 for a broker.

If circumstances do not allow for timely completion of the hours by the expiration date, the licensee may renew late once the hours are complete or change to inactive status and renew.

Licensees who submit an incomplete renewal or who do not renew must stop performing activities that require a license after the current license expires.

If a supervising or branch broker does not timely renew, another broker may take over (REC-450 Change Supervising Broker Form).  Otherwise, all affiliated licensees must move to another company or change to inactive status and the company must  close (REC-440 Close Company Form).

Renewal of a license on inactive status does not require continuing education but the hours must eventually be completed to change to active status. Licensees who request reactivation after two years on inactive status will be subject to additional education requirements. Licensees who request reactivation after five years must complete the initial examination.

An inactive license will expire if not renewed.

If a supervising or branch broker requests renewal on inactive status, another broker may take over (Change Supervising Broker Form, REC-450). Otherwise, all affiliated licensees must move to another company or change to inactive status and the company must close (Close Company Form, REC-440).
