Der Verkauf der Codes, die zum Eintritt benötigt werden, sei schon jetzt stärker als im Jahr 2019. Das Team der Messe rechnet noch mit vielen, die sich spontan ihre Tickets kaufen. Bei den Ticketvorverkäufen „wurde über die Industrie, aber auch über die tatsächlichen Fachbesucher der Rekord von 2019 geknackt“, sagte Messeleiter Michael Mayrhofer. „Es wurden über die digitalen Codes weitaus mehr als 2019 angefordert. Somit erwarten wir eine große Anzahl an Besucherinnen und Besuchern.“
Auch die Zahl der Aussteller erreicht fast schon wieder das Niveau vor den Lockdown-Jahren: „2019 war ein absolutes Spitzenjahr mit 750 Ausstellern. 2020 hat’s ja nur ein digitales Format gegeben, im letzten Jahr war’s ein kleineres, aber doch sehr erfolgreiches Jahr“, sagt Mayrhofer. „Jetzt kommen wir aber wirklich zu alter Stärke zurück – wir haben über 630 Aussteller und bespielen alle Messehallen.“

Die Pandemiejahre hätten in der Tourismusbranche einen großen Digitalisierungsschub gebracht – das merke man auch auf der Messe, sagt Mayrhofer: „In der Start-Up-Area sind viele Ausstellerinnen und Aussteller dabei, die den Bereich Digitalisierung oder Automatisierung abdecken.“ Aber auch das erste vollautomatisierte Kaffeehaus werde auf der Messe vorgestellt. Und auch „die Roboter begegnen einem auf den Messegängen. Die sprechen auch mit einem und finden den Weg zum Aussteller“, betont der Messeleiter. „Aber auch den Bereich vollautomatisierte Cocktail-Zubereitungen, Cocktail-Roboter gibt es zu sehen.“
Viel Interesse an „Alles für den Gast“
Die Messeveranstalter behalten auch weiteres Service aus Pandemiezeiten bei: Zwei Livestreams von der Messe sind per Internet verfügbar, so Mayrhofer: „Einerseits das Gastro-Circle-Rahmenvortragsprogramm, wo wir verschiedene Themen aus der Branche in Talks oder Panels aufnehmen und mit Expertinnen und Experten behandeln. Aber auch bei den Austrian Coffee Championships – die Staatsmeisterschaften in vier Kategorien – kann man den verschiedenen Wettbewerben live folgen.“
Messe-Partys ebenfalls wieder am Programm
Doch auch die Partys rund um die „Alles für den Gast“ gibt es heuer wieder, sagt Messeleiter Mayrhofer: „Natürlich sollen am Ende eines erfolgreichen Messetages die Besucherinnen und Besucher in die Stadt kommen, dort die Gastronomie beleben, dort Party machen und den Messetag ausklingen lassen.“

How to get to Messezentrum Salzburg?
Arriving by public transport
The no.1 trolleybus stops right outside the Salzburg Exhibition & Congress Center at the ‘Messe’ bus stop. During events, there is also a direct trolleybus service to and from the ‘Salzburgarena’ bus stop.
The no.7 trolleybus stops right next to the Salzburg Exhibition & Congress Center at the ‘Bessarabierstrasse’ bus stop.
The no.8 trolleybus stops directly at the Salzburg Exhibition & Congress Center and the Salzburgarena and is the fastest way from the centre to the P+R Messe. (Park and Ride Messe).
Free public transport tickets can be obtained for the trolleybus to and from the expo centre for fairs staged by Messezentrum Salzburg GmbH. These free bus tickets can be downloaded from the respective expo website. The ticket is only valid in printed form.
Arriving by rail and by bus
Salzburg’s main railway station (Hauptbahnhof) is a key traffic hub for the western half of Austria and is fully integrated into the German Deutsche Bahn rail network. Taxis, public transport options and car hire offices are all available at the station.
Arriving on foot or on a bicycle
Messezentrum Salzburg expo centre and the Salzburgarena venue are approximately 30 minutes walk from the old town, a 20-minute walk from the railway station and are easily reached using the comprehensive network of cycle paths. Bicycle stands are available at the venue.
Arriving by air
Salzburg Airport W. A. Mozart is approximately 4 km away from Messezentrum Salzburg. There are taxis, public transport options and car hire companies at the airport.
Arriving by car
Messezentrum Salzburg and Salzburgarena are both located alongside the A1 motorway. They can both be accessed by leaving the motorway at the exit marked Messe. The route to the venue is clearly signposted in the city and on the motorway.
